Biography
Joanna Dabrowska is a senior instructor in the School of Accountancy & MIS where she teaches Principles of Financial and Managerial Accounting. She is also the program coordinator for the Principles I Lab program and initiated to improve the performance of students in the first accounting course. In this role she designs 50-minute required weekly lab sessions and manages the graduate teaching assistants who conduct the labs. She is also responsible for managing the tutoring lab, available to all students enrolled in the Principles of Accounting Courses. Dabrowska is also a member of several department committees including: Financial Accounting Committee, Community College Committee, Graduate Assistant Selection Committee and Transfer Scholars Committee.
Since 2009, Dabrowska has also been involved with the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission as an assistant to the chair, correspondence secretary and website administrator. Before teaching at DePaul, she worked as a financial accountant and also edited accounting books for Wiley as well as accounting textbooks authored by Needles & Powers.
