John Baird

John is the CEO of UCOT, a company building a new digitized supply chain ecosystem powered by the latest 5G/IoT telecommunications and Blockchain technologies. UCOT is endeavouring to enhance efficiency, protect data privacy, reinforce trust and harmony for businesses and consumers along the supply chain

John has held a life-long passion for technology, the importance of using it to provide a reliable platform, and the strategic role that platform can play in driving an organisation forward.

With more than 30 years’ experience in information technology, John has spent time as both a consultant, and in-house in some of the world’s biggest financial services firms, most recently as Chief Technology Officer for Deutsche Bank in Australia and New Zealand.

John is a security advisor to the NSW Government, and has previously Chaired the ICT Advisory Panel for NSW Government, Chaired the Financial Services group within the Australian Information Industry Association, and acted as an advisor for technology start-ups. He is also a Venture Partner with Sapien Ventures, a FinTech focused venture capital firm.

He holds a Bachelor of Science and post graduate degrees in computing from Macquarie University, He has also completed programs at INSEAD and the London Business School.
