Leonard N. Stern School of Business

John's passion is using data, science and communication to solve difficult problems that make a difference in the world. He has led strategic and analytically-driven change initiatives at companies in the technology, engineering, media, financial services and retail sectors. He has spoken at conferences and published articles on strategy, analytics and data in areas ranging from aerospace engineering to human resources.

As Global Head of Workforce Strategy at BNY Mellon, John leads the workforce strategy, planning and analytics teams for the largest custody bank in the world. Prior to joining BNY Mellon, he was Director of People Analytics at AOL, where he led efforts to bring a data-driven approach to improving all aspects of the company’s interactions with employees.

John spent his early career at NASA's Langley Research Center as a systems engineer with Swales Aerospace (now Orbital ATK). He was the lead statistician for a technical assessment of the space shuttle after the Columbia disaster, and developed models to support improvements to the National Airspace System. He later held multiple roles at PTC, an engineering and manufacturing solutions firm, including leading North America consulting organizations for the aerospace, defense, retail and consumer goods businesses.
