Biography

An engineer and veteran of Silicon Valley, John Nesheim is a lecturer of management at the Johnson Graduate School of Management. Since 1976, he has focused his research on how to do a high-tech start-up in its idea inception stage. His research findings led to discovery of the "14 Steps to IPO," which are documented in his best-selling book, High Tech Start Up. Translated into four languages, the book is used around the world by entrepreneurs, investors, governments, universities, corporations, and Wall Street to increase understanding of entrepreneurial effectiveness. His follow-on book, "The Power of Unfair Advantage," expands on that research.

John actively promotes best practices for entrepreneurial learning via his web site NesheimOnline, incorporating field research from the active venture community. His tips for startup CEOs can be found at nesheimonline.com. John has assisted over 300 corporations raise over $2 billion and exits via IPOs, mergers and acquisitions.
