Biography

The Florida International University College of Business

I am not your typical college career counselor or university administrator.

My job...no, let’s call it what it really is, my passion, is to help companies understand the complex subjects of college recruiting & university relations in the age of instant gratification. I help them recruit our College of Business students and alumni.

It’s been said that recruiting is recruiting. But the nuances of executing that recent "Collegiate Talent Acquisition Strategy" that your CHRO has just flopped on your bosses desk, who in turn has passed it on to you, and now you have that sinking feeling of "Oh My". Well, I’ve been there and I know exactly how it feels.

Here’s why I’m not typical: Because I've been in the trenches. Reqs on the board and hiring manager is screaming to fill it before the CFO implements a hiring freeze? Been there. Out of town candidate starting to back out, and the start date is next Monday? Yep, been there too. College student caught between your offer and three others? Is today Tuesday?

My years of recruiting experience have given me some great insight and I’ve always leveraged that with a healthy dose of asking why, questioning the status quo, and constantly learning. I've seen talent acquisition from the agency, corporate, and now collegiate side, there isn’t a whole lot that will surprise me; the basics have always remained the same. I can quickly assess talent, listen carefully, and share best practices accordingly.

I’m at my best when I get the chance to help companies, HR managers, Talent Acquisition Folks, and even students, move away from the typical and engage in practices that will yield unexpected results, that’s where you’ll find me operating at my best.

I’ve led teams, I’ve managed projects, and I’ve herded cats. I’ve worked with all levels within an organization: The C-suite, the cubes, in hospitals, in hospital labs, on the pavement, and on the phones.
