John Stiver is an Associate Professional Specialist in the Department of Finance at the University of Notre Dame. He has taught at the University of Connecticut, the University of Rochester in New York, and SUNY Brockport in New York. John earned a B.A. in Mathematics/Economics from the State University of New York at Buffalo, as well as a Master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Rochester. He serves as the Co-Advisor for the Undergraduate Investment Club at Notre Dame; a reviewer for Addison-Wesley, McGraw-Hill, and Southwestern; and a referee for the Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking. His research centers on technology, investments, and the economy; his dissertation topic was “Vintage Capital, Technology, and Monetary Policy.”

John received a University of Rochester Fellowship, the Distinguished Teaching Award at the University of Rochester, the Faculty of the Year Award at the University of Connecticut, and Club Advisor of the Year at the University of Connecticut.
