Biography
University of Western Australia Business School
Minerals industry geologist, economist and strategist. Interests in exploration and mine project development, risk and value assessment, decision making, strategy, scenario planning, sustainability, social licence, non-technical risks, resource depletion and supply risks. Experience in copper, tin, rare earths, gold, iron ore, bismuth, antimony, and a number of other base, precious, specialty, strategic and critical metals. Currently based in Perth, Australia, having worked and studied in London, UK for a decade.
Currently studying a PhD in Economic Geology and Mineral Economics at the Centre of Exploration Targeting, School of Earth Sciences, The University of Western Australia. The PhD is entitled "Using scenario planning to improve the integration of geological, technical, economic, environmental and socio-political factors in minerals exploration management and strategy".
Casual Lecturer at the Business School, The University of Western Australia on the 'Strategic Management of Resource Companies' MBA course. Also teach the 'Mineral Economics for Geologists' at the Centre for Exploration Targeting. Previously taught the Mineral Economics & Policy course for the International Mining for Development Centre (IM4DC), ran the '3 Day MBA in Rare Earth Metals' for Terrapinn Training, and provided voluntary teaching support for the 'Business Advisory Projects' MBA course at UWA Business School and the 'Resource Sector Management' MBA module at Curtin Business School.
Founder and Director of Greenfields Research, a consultancy which specialises in the analysis of exploration and mine project development in the base, precious and specialty metals sectors and is targeted at assisting junior mining companies and their support industry.
International Vice President of the Royal School of Mines Association. Organiser of the Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining (IOM3) Young Persons Lecture Competition in Australia.
