Jon Tucker

Jon Tucker is a Professor of Finance in the Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance at the Faculty of Business and Law, the University of the West of England, Visiting Professor in Finance at Coventry University, and Visiting Professor in Finance at the Universitatea Babeş-Bolyai in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Jon was formerly the Director of the Centre for Global Finance, and now a member of BCEF. He is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, and formerly acted as Chief Examiner for Investment Analysis for that body. Jon is on the editorial board and referee panel of a wide range of accounting, economics and finance journals. Area of expertise Jon’s research skills are in evidence in the fields of accounting and finance, with a particular emphasis on equity and bond analysis, financial statement analysis, international corporate financial reporting, corporate capital structure, banking and financial crime. He has many years of experience of PhD supervision and PhD examining. Jon has lectured on Finance, Accounting, Economics and Business programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels for the last 27 academic years and has also worked in the Banking (National Westminster Bank) and Accountancy (KPMG Peat Marwick) professions. He occasionally works as a consultant financial analyst for City investment banks and has engaged in executive training in the finance sector. More recently, Jon has been working on a training initiative with the Office for National Statistics and pensions and risk consultancy for a pensions consulting company. Since joining UWE in 2007, he steered the development of the successful MSc Finance programme and drove the development of new research groupings within the Department. More recently, I have developed an impact case study with Professor Nic Ryder (Law) on the topic of "A Review of KPI Measurements of the Dedicated Cheque and Plastic Crime Unit."
