PhD project
Jonathan’s PhD project “Engineering serendipity” follows the activities of BLOXHUB (www.bloxhub.org), a Copenhagen-based innovation space within ‘sustainable urbanization’, through a longitudinal ethnographic field study. Drawing on ‘events’ as unit of analysis, the project combines process and social network theoretical approaches to describe BLOXHUB’s role within processes of innovation. BLOXHUB operates a co-working space and a range of innovation activities to facilitate cross-industry innovation, bridging, e.g., architecture, construction, urban planning, and design.
In addition to his PhD project, Jonathan is part of a team building the BLOXHUB Science Forum, an Industrial Research Network that facilitates transdisciplinary research and collaboration across universities around ‘sustainable urbanization’ as a uniting theme.
