Biography

Jorge Beneitez studied at the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid (ETSAM) from 2003 to 2012, where he received his Master Degree in Architecture, construction and urban planning with the final project, “Co-habitation of urban systems. Cultural Centre and Urban Landscape into the ruins of San Francisco’s Church”.

During academic study he worked at several design studios. Primarily at Naso Gonzalez practice for two years, designing and developing the schematic design and tender drawings of Santa Maria la Blanca’s Church, a ecclesiastical complex of over 5000sqm including a parish centre and priest residency, as well as other residential, retail and office design projects. He also spent time at Manuel Blanco sudio specialising in the design and installation of tempory exhibitions. Jorge also collaborated with different practices based in madrid, running competitions and private projects where he specialised in BIM modelling, rendering and graphic design.

After obtaining his diploma in 2012 he founded his own practice with another partner and worked on private commissions, primarily apartment renovations and interior design. Also worked in several graphic design projects.

In 2013 he moved to Hong Kong to learn about the asian market and the phenomenon of Chinese architecture!

For six months he worked as a Design Architect for I.C.E. ltd. developing projects in mainland China. Foremost the design of an Urban Park in Chengdu, (currently under construction) and the Schematic Design and Design Development of a 9000sqm hotel and leisure centre for the Chinese government in ShenYang, both using BIM technology.

After that he worked for Architectural Project Unit in Hong Kong, in charge of the design team on a super-prime private residential project in Brunei and some art installations.

Since joining pdp[east] in 2014 Jorge has worked on large scale, mixed-use projects in Ningbo, PRC, as well as undertaking design and detailing roles for private residential projects in Hong Kong.
