Biography

Dr Joseph Siu-Lung KONG completed his BBA and PhD in Information Systems at the City University of Hong Kong. His research focused on gaming psychology of digital natives and received Outstanding Paper Award in the ED-MEDIA 2011 World Conference for his empirical study in MMOG on knowledge creation. Dr Kong recently received the Innovative CityU-Learning Awards 2020 for his Learn-from-Home (LfH) e-Business course and the IS BBA Contribution Award 2019/20 for his efforts in promotion and undergraduate retention. He was the Chief Residence Tutor at the Lee Shau Kee Hall from 2010 to 2014 and involved actively in organizing the Prof Edmond Ko Cup Inter-hall Photography Competition. Before entering university, Joseph was one of the top racing eSport athletes in Hong Kong specialized in the “GranTurismo” series. He runs a blog and YouTube channel to study social marketing, which covers topics like IT knowledge, disruptive mindset, photography, digital gaming and Nerf blasters. Joseph is also an Ordinary Member of CityU Foundation since 2020 which seat #F26 was named after him at the Wong Cheung Lo Hui Yuet Hall.
