Professor Dr. Jozo Acksteiner (1969 in Darmstadt) is Professor for General Business Administration, particularly Logistics, at the Fulda University of Applied Sciences. He is Director of Studies for Logistics Management in the Department of Business. His research and teaching focuses are Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics and Geographic Analytics.
Acksteiner achieved his “Diplom” (corresponding to a Master of Science) in Mathematics With Distinction at the University of Wuppertal in 1996. In 1999 he obtained his Master of Science in Applied Mathematics and in 2001 his Ph.D in Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His research focus was on Queueing Theory and Supply Chain Management.
Acksteiner worked as a Strategy Consultant and manager in the areas of Supply Chain Management and IT. He worked for companies such as Strategy& (formerly Booz Allen Hamilton), KarstadtQuelle, DHL and TNT.
Prior to his appointment as a Full Professor at Fulda University in 2017, he was a member of the Strategic Planning and Modeling Group at Hewlett Packard and Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Singapore.
Acksteiner was Adjunct Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore from 2014 until 2017. Furthermore, he was Co-Chair of the Supply Chain Management Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore and Board Member of the Georgia Institute of Technology Alumni Singapore. Acksteiner was a guest speaker at conferences such as BVL Logistics Congress, Supply Chain Asia, CHaINA Live, CSCMP Annual.
In 2015 Acksteiner founded the start-up company GeoLyx.com geolyx.com, which offers software, consulting and training in the field of Geographic Analytics - a term that he dealt with intensively during his time at HP together with his colleague Claudia Trautmann.
