Academy Leadership
Judy Mavroleon has over 30 years of leadership and business management experience in numerous executive positions such as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Director of Finance, and Director of Human Resources for military training sites and higher education. As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), she has an extensive financial background to include public accounting, joint ventures, real estate development, international organizations, project management, and independent consulting. Judy has held positions on the Board of Directors of the California YMCA Youth and Government, the Girl Scouts (GSCCC) and the Salvation Army Advisory Board.
Judy brings 30 years of military experience and recently retired as a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves. She is a graduate of the U.S. Army Airborne School, Transportation Officer Basic Course, Civil Affairs Officer Advance Course at JFK Special Warfare Center at Ft. Bragg, and Command and General Staff College at Ft. Leavenworth.
Serving as the Brigade Task Force Deputy for the Iraqi Police Partnership Program (2005-06), Judy developed and implemented the countrywide readiness assessment tool for the Iraqi police stations and the training programs for the military and civilian police forces. During her second tour in Iraq 2006-07, she led the Interagency Stabilization Task Force Program for national reconstruction activities for the U.S. military and the U.S. Embassy-Iraq under the U.S. State Department. She is a Bronze Star Medal recipient.
After returning to the USA, she became a Director of Public Works and coordinated the development of training ranges and facility construction activities for a 43,000 acre military installation. Colonel Mavroleon has had leadership roles in Military Department Emergency Disaster Response Exercises (EDRE) and Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) Exercises for the State of California.
Judy has B.A. in Business Administration from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and earned a Masters of Public Administration concentrating on International Development and Business Consulting from Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. She co-authored Antidote for Panic: Managing Business Continuity Projects Effectively and has been a guest speaker at the Project Management Institute (PMI) Congress.
Her greatest desire is to improve the lives of others by providing tools and methods that enable them to be successful in accomplishing their personal and professional goals. She lives with her husband Mace and Australian Cattle Dog 'Zeph' on the central coast of California.
