I hold a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of Vaasa, Finland. My current research interests include behavioral aspects of corporate governance and auditing, financial statement analysis, wealth-effects in executive compensation, and insider trading. I have also published papers on cost accounting, management control systems and employee stock options. In the area of finance, my publication record includes papers on asset pricing, stock market microstructure and firm valuation. I have published his research in such journals as Journal of Accounting and Economics, Review of Accounting Studies, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Corporate Finance, Management Accounting Research, Journal of Management Accounting Research, Journal of Financial Intermediation, and Journal of International Money and Finance.

I teache corporate governance, firm valuation, financial statement analysis and financial markets in graduate, executive, and professional programs.
