RESEARCH: His research area is Vibration and Structural Dynamics by both Experiments and Analysis including FE model updating, Vibration control, and Health Monitoring techniques. He received prestigious Young Scientist (Boyscast) Fellowship in 1999 from the Department of Science and Technology, India for his outstanding work in Vibration diagnosis and Structural Dynamics related to number of rotating machines and structural components of Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs). He is the author of more than 60 project technical reports (including PhD Thesis, M.Tech. Dissertation) and 189 technical papers in the International Journals, Conferences (Journal-99nos, Conference-84nos., Invited talk-6nos.)+ 2 books in the field of structural dynamics and vibration measurements, analysis and diagnosis.
PROJECTS: Dr. Sinha has been extensively involved in a number of projects (nearly 3M) related to Vibration & Dynamics and instrumental in developing a number of innovative techniques in his research area. Currently he is doing project on the steam turbines of EDF, UK
PhD SUPERVISION: Currently Dr. Sinha is supervising 4 PhD students in different areas of the condition monitoring of machines and structures and in Bioengineering. Some of them supervising jointly with other staff members.
2 EngD and 14 PhD students already completed their study.
