BIOGRAPHY
Karolina specializes in modern and avant-garde art from Central and Eastern Europe with a focus on surrealism, photomontage, and photography. Her current research focuses on the idea of 'mythologizing reality' in the works of Polish, Jewish, and Ukrainian artists from interwar L'viv.
Most recently she published “From Print to Digital: Reappropriation of the Ready-Made Image in the Works of Margit Sielska and Weronika Gęsicka” (2022) as part of OLH's special collection Binary Modernisms: Re/Appropriations of Modernist Art in the Digital Age.
Karolina joined Pratt in 2021. Previously, she taught at the University of Edinburgh.
