Biography

Henley Business School

Kate is an Associate Client Director at Henley Business School. She works with top teams and senior leaders on leadership, team and organisational development issues, specialising in the behavioural changes that underpin cultural and organisational changes. Kate works in both the public and private sectors throughout the UK and around the globe. After completing university in the UK Kate spent a year at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor as a Fulbright Scholar, before returning to the UK to pursue a career with ICI as an HR specialist. Over the next 10 years she worked on a range of HR projects across the ICI businesses. It was here that as an HR Director she first became interested in, and then committed to, the change processes that accompany management and organisational development. This was the start of a lifelong belief that the success of organisations, whether public or private, starts with the success of its leadership and the ability of that leadership to lead the organisations through change in a way that not only contributes to the business but inspires its people. Kate moved from ICI to Henley where she designs large and small scale development programmes to deliver against organisational objectives. Clients include AstraZeneca, AEGON UK, Hitachi, United Biscuits, the Tribal Group, Kidde PLC, the Cabinet Office and the H.F.E.A. These programmes focus on helping groups of senior leaders focus on what it means to be a leader and how to develop leadership both at the individual and the organisational level. It includes helping individuals to understand about change and its impact on people and to develop strategies for the influence and inspiration of others and the creation of better performance. Kate is also an experienced facilitator of both large and small group processes and for 10 years has run Henley's most successful open programme, The Advanced Personal Leadership Programme.
