Biography
Harvard Medical School
I am a clinical sexologist and nurse psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience. I hold a master’s degree in psychiatric nursing and am certified by the ANCC and licensed by the Maryland Board of Nursing as a Nurse Psychotherapist. My doctoral degree is in human sexuality and I am a diplomate with the American Board of Sexology.
I maintain a private practice where I evaluate and treat patients with a host of sexual, gender, and relationship concerns. In addition, I am a sexual educator who teaches in undergraduate, graduate and medical school curriculums. Frequently I provide mentoring and consultation to professionals who wish to strengthen their understanding of sexual and gender issues. Nationally and internationally I have conducted workshops on relevant topics. I have authored and co-authored several journal articles and book chapters. I hold a faculty position at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and serve as Clinical Director of the Hopkins Sex and Gender Clinic where we provide education for psychiatric residents and medical students and offer evaluation to patients, couples and families who present with sex and gender challenges.
