Biography

Opus College of Business

Katherina Pattit received her PhD in business ethics and law from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and her BA and MBA from Friedrich Alexander University in Germany. Her research interests cover a variety of subject areas, including investor decision making, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, responsible growth, and privacy in social networking.

Currently, Pattit is studying how companies manage their boundaries in the social media space and how that affects employee privacy. She is also collaborating on a project about how companies use corporate social responsibility activities as research and development “labs” to manage and enable market and social innovation in Africa.

Pattit enjoys teaching in a learner-centered classroom environment in which students take an active role, not only in shaping course material and assessment, but also in teaching each other. She enjoys teaching at St. Thomas because it allows her to focus on learning about one's own values, goals and thought patterns as a basis for applying tools for improving critical decision making. Pattit also specializes in online and blended course design and delivery and serves as a master reviewer for the Quality Matters program.
