Doctor in Management Science graduated from the University of Nantes in collaboration with Audencia business school, Dr Katia Picaud-Bello, teaches several courses on Purchasing in English, French and Spanish languages at ESSCA, campus Angers. Since September 2018, she has been in charge of Master 1 Sourcing and Supply Chain Management.

In 2012, Dr Katia Picaud-Bello received the Eiffel scholarship from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a particularly selective distinction, 480 candidates admitted out of 1446 candidates evaluated, to finance the first year of her doctoral thesis in France.

Her research work focuses on supplier relationship management and purchasing management, i.e. the role of the purchasing department in a discontinuous innovation project. They are divided into several areas, “sourcing a new technology”, “purchasing participation in the development of new products” and “purchasing participation in an open and collaborative innovation project”.

As part of her activity as a scholar at ESSCA, Dr. Katia Picaud-Bello is involved in the Services and Innovation Chair, in collaboration with Professor Eric Stevens, they work on coordination mechanisms in social and open innovation projects with public and private actors.

She is also an active member of IPSERA “Special Interest Group (SIG) in Purchasing & Innovation”, a think tank with invited companies on the future role of Purchasing in innovation projects.

In March 2018, Dr. Katia Picaud-Bello published the first part of her doctoral thesis in collaboration with two international professors in a collaborative book, the chapter Purchasing involvement in Discontinuous Innovation: An emerging research Agenda at Springer.

She is the coordinator of the PERISCOPE research project, funded bu Erasmus +.
