Katie Kasabalis

Kyriaki (Katie) Kasabalis is an urbanist, architect and educator. She is a Unit Master at the Architectural Association School of Architecture, a Visiting Senior Fellow at LSE Cities and the Design Director of Kasawoo, an interdisciplinary practice based in London and New York. Her work is at the forefront of a new direction for urban research – one that investigates the role of technological innovation in guiding models of future development. Her current research investigates the evolution of the workplace under the pressures of today’s knowledge economy.

Prior to joining the Architectural Association School of Architecture, Kasabalis taught as Assistant Professor at the University of Virginia and as Visiting faculty at Cornell University. She has served as guest critic at Harvard, Yale, UCLA, Columbia, Pratt, Syracuse and Northeastern Universities and worked as an architect at Foster + Partners, Richard Meier & Partners and Weiss/Manfredi in New York City. Kasabalis received a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University, where she was the 2010 recipient of the prestigious Goodwin Sands Memorial Medal. She holds a Master of Architecture in Urban Design with distinction from Harvard University, where she received the Druker Fellowship and the award for Excellence in Urban Design.
