Biography

S. Katie Moon is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado Boulder. She was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Tulane University’s Freeman School of Business and also a Visiting Scholar at the USC’s Marshall School of Business.

Prior to becoming an academic, she worked for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a Financial Economist. Her representative policy work at the SEC includes Pay Ratio Disclosure and Clawback Compensation Recovery Provision under the Dodd-Frank Act, and Emerging Growth Company under the JOBS Act.

She received her Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Maryland, College Park, a M.S. in Financial Engineering from Claremont Graduate University, and both a M.S. in Computer Science and a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Seoul National University.

Her research interests are in corporate finance, industrial organization, security issuance, corporate governance and financial regulation.

She has taught Future and Options Contracts at the University of Maryland and Analysis of Fixed Income Securities at Tulane University. At the Leeds School, she teaches Derivative Securities.
