Biography

Haslam College of Business

Ken Baker received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of New Mexico in 2001.  He joined the economics department in 2002 and was promoted to Distinguished Lecturer in 2018. He teaches Introductory Economics, Honor’s Introductory Economics and Principles of Macroeconomics. He is the faculty adviser to several student organizations, including the Economics Club and the Delta Sigma Pi professional business fraternity.  In addition, he serves as the chair of the Academic Policy committee within the Undergraduate Council and is a member of the Budget and Finance committee within the Faculty Senate.

Bio

Ken Baker teaches courses relating to mathematical modeling and operations management. Over the years, much of his teaching and research has dealt with operations planning and control, and he is widely known for his work on sequencing and scheduling.
