Thunderbird School of Global Management
Kenneth Sawka is a part-time lecturer in the Master of Arts in Strategic Intelligence Analysis and Master of Arts in Homeland Security programs, where he teaches online and in-person courses in intelligence analysis, intelligence and homeland security, and policymaker use of intelligence.
Sawka is president of Crumpton Group, a global intelligence and risk-management advisory firm. He is an executive with more than 30 years of experience at the confluence of business strategy, intelligence and national security, and organizational leadership development. He has designed and led scenario planning, competitive war-gaming, intelligence training and coaching, and leadership and decision-support engagements for public- and private-sector organizations around the world.
An expert commentator and thought leader, Sawka has been quoted extensively on business strategy and intelligence in Fast Company, Investor’s Business Daily, American Banker, and other prominent journals. He has also been featured on CNBC’s morning business talk show Squawk Box.
Sawka served as the CEO of Fuld + Company, a boutique competitive strategy consulting firm, working from the firm’s Boston and London offices to oversee commercial operations, marketing, business development, and engagement delivery. He was also the managing partner at Outward Insights, a boutique scenario planning and competitive strategy consulting firm. Prior to Outward Insights, Sawka directed pricing and competitive analysis at Deloitte Consulting and served as a practice leader in Deloitte’s Global Strategy and Operations practice. He was also an intelligence analyst with the Central Intelligence Agency.
Sawka holds a BS in political science, cum laude, and an MA in international affairs, with distinction, from the American University in Washington, D.C. He is pursuing an EdD in organizational leadership studies at Northeastern University.
