Fordham University
Dr. Kevin Colleary is an adjunct professor at Fordham University’s Graduate School of Education in New York. His research and publications focus on social studies education, content area reading, critical thinking, sexual orientation and other diversity issues, best practices in teaching and learning, and helping teachers understand how to develop content driven literacy instruction at all grades.
He is author of a number of elementary level textbook programs published by McGraw-Hill Education including the first ever elementary level social studies program that includes content about LGBTI history and contributors as mandated by California’s FAIR Act. He has been an elementary, middle school and high school teacher in Harlem and Brooklyn, New York.
He has also been invited to take part in the Lower Mekong Initiative project sponsored by the US State Department working with teachers and other professional leaders from the five Lower Mekong nations.
Dr. Colleary received his BA in History from Siena College, Albany NY. He also earned both his Master’s and doctorate in education from Harvard University, Cambridge, MA.
A native New Yorker, Kevin currently lives in Bangkok with his husband, the Portuguese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand.
