Biography

A strategic thinker, passionate developer, and perpetual learner. My interests lie in event-driven microservices architectures and building strong feedback loops to ship higher quality software to production quicker. My core competencies are:

  • Microservices (Go, Python, Java) and event-driven architectures (NATS)
  • Linux
  • Agile Scrum.

Some of my work accomplishments include:

  • Designed and successfully executed a blue-green deployment strategy for my lab. Impact: Significantly reduced operational risk by enabling zero-downtime deployments and canary testing in production.

  • Leveraged automation to fully eliminate manual testing in my agile lab. Impact: Able to go to production more quickly and merged unit, integration, and performance testing into our DevOps pipeline.

  • Introduction of Confluence wiki software into my department. Now widely adopted - we have a central repository for documentation, reports, and meeting minutes.

  • Introduced code quality improvements to my lab: added a peer-review process, minimum code coverage requirements, automated code quality scans (SonarQube), and dependency injection development patterns. Impact: Reduced rate of defects across environments and more easily testable code.
