Biography
Dr Kim Goodwin is a Teaching Specialist in the Faculty of Arts in the Arts and Cultural Management Program. Her PhD thesis, ‘Communities that Practice: Leadership Identity Construction in the Australian Arts and Cultural Sector’ argues that emerging leaders require disciplinary based development through collaborative practice to build effective leadership identities.
She teaches a variety of arts management, human resources and policy subjects and is currently establishing a multi-faculty pilot program to build career oriented communities of practice for creative arts and arts management students, alumni and industry. Prior to academia Kim worked in human resources, graduate recruitment and talent management before building a career in the arts sector with organisations such as the National Association for the Visual Arts and Craft Victoria. Her most recent consultancy project was impact evaluation for the Flesh After Fifty exhibition at the Abbotsford Convent in April 2021.
