Formerly Lecturer in law, University of Liverpool.

Kirsty is a member of the Centre for Social Ethics and Policy and a fellow of the Institute of Medicine, Law and Bioethics. She is also a member of the Arts and Humanities Research Council peer review college. She works closely with mental health and learning disability professionals, delivering training and development and providing consultancy on case reviews and inquiries.

Teaching:

Kirsty''s teaching is primarly in the field of Mental Health Law at undergraduate and postgraduate level, via distance learning and campus-based learning.   She also teaches on undergraduate courses in health care law.

Research Students:

In addition she is supervising the following doctoral research projects:

  • Elder abuse, health care and human rights.
  • Safeguarding people with dementia
