Biography
Kun is a research associate in the Centre for Photonic Devices and Sensors (CPDS). He received his PhD in engineering (laser interactions with functional material) in Institute for Manufacturing, Dept. of Engineering, University of Cambridge in 2012. Kun has been elected as a junior research fellow of Clare Hall College Cambridge in 2017-2020.
His current research area and interests are novel display technologies, including
- Immersive Head-Up Display (iHUD) for automotives
- Liquid crystal based optical devices including Liquid Crystal on Si (LCoS) spatial light modulators (SLMs)
- Uniform and fast switching of window-size smectic A liquid crystal panels
- Auto-stereoscopic display for mobile devices based on switchable liquid crystal lenticular lens array
