J. Larry Jameson, MD, PhD, is Executive Vice President of the University of Pennsylvania for the Health System and Dean of the Raymond and Ruth Perelman School of Medicine. A leading voice in academic medicine nationally, he champions a culture of innovation, excellence, inclusion, and collaboration. Before coming to Penn Medicine in 2011, Dr. Jameson was Dean of the Feinberg School of Medicine and Vice President of Medical Affairs at Northwestern University. A prolific physicianscientist and writer, Dr. Jameson has been a pioneer in molecular medicine in the field of endocrinology. He is an editor of Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine, the most widely used medical text worldwide. Among his many professional distinctions and honors, Dr. Jameson has been elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Medicine.
