Laura Kettell

Teaching Fellow for Financial Accounting

Biography

-

My name is Laura Kettell and I am a fifth-year PhD student at the The University of Texas at Austin. I expect to be on the 2022-2023 academic job market and graduate May 2023.

I am a financial archival researcher with a focus on how the acquisition and processing of information impacts the capital markets. I aim to produce research that changes priors and provides practical takeaways for researchers and regulators. In addition to two working papers, I have a publication in the Journal of Accounting and Economics.

Prior to pursuing my PhD, I was an M&A transaction services consultant at Deloitte's New York office. I am a licensed CPA in New York state. I earned my B.S. and Masters' degrees in accounting from New York University.
