Experience
In her 12+ years at the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), Laura has provided expertise in the areas of client consultation, program design and facilitation, research and program management. She has worked with and managed multiple CCL programs (Leadership at the Peak, Developing the Strategic Leader, Leadership Development for HR Professionals) and major client initiatives, focusing on: leadership strategy, culture transformation, organizational change, effective organizational and interpersonal communication, senior executives and senior executive teams, executive team development. During her time at the Center, Laura has worked with numerous CCL clients including Xerox, Walmart, Graymont, Experian, Energizer, National Wildlife Federation, Wilhelmsen and the International Finance Corporation. Laura is also a certified CCL executive coach and has had an extensive repertoire of coaching clients from numerous organizations and industries.
Laura came to CCL with extensive experience in the hi-tech industry. She was a financial analyst and materials manager for Hewlett Packard, and a sales account manager for Exabyte Corporation prior to pursuing her graduate degree.
Current Role
Laura is a Senior Practitioner in the Center’s Organizational Solutions Business. In this role, she oversees the development and implementation of the Center’s Organizational Portfolio, including design and delivery of major client initiatives and the capability and content development for the Center’s Talent, Strategy, Culture and Organizational Transformation work.
Educational Background
Laura has a Ph.D. in Organizational Communication and Leadership from the University of Texas at Austin. She also has an MA in Communication and a BA in Business from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Her academic work has been recognized and published in the Journal of Management Communication, Journal of Corporate Governance, and Business Communication Quarterly. She is also an author in the Center’s Handbook of Leadership Development.
Professional Affiliations
Laura is a former board member of the United Nation’s Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative. She is also active in many local, national and international groups focusing on Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability. She is also a certified yoga instructor.
