Biography
Cox School of Business
I am a pioneer in designing, developing, and implementing holistic dispute resolution processes. As a plaintiff’s litigator for twenty years, I saw first-hand how litigation –and litigators – failed both parties. I began to explore alternatives to litigation. That exploration led me to Harvard Divinity School where I wrote my graduate thesis on the role of apology and forgiveness in mediation, an essay published by the YALE LAW JOURNAL. Today, I have two general practice areas.
In Taft Solutions I design and implement pro-active error response plans like PEARL, the protocol Stanford University follows when a patient suffers an adverse medical outcome.
In RestorativeMediations I use my expertise as a litigator, mediator, and forgiveness expert to facilitate disputes where the parties hope to both settle the dispute and find forgiveness.
