Lou Van Beirendonck

Lou Van Beirendonck has been associated with Antwerp Management School for more than 20 years. For several years he has been Academic Director of the Master Class in HRM and Senior Lecturer in HRM in various Masters and Master Classes at Antwerp Management School. The unique combination of scientific foundation and in-depth practical experience make every lesson of Lou Van Beirendonck an unforgettable learning experience. He is an extremely gifted teacher who knows how to captivate any audience. He is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences.

Because, in addition to the role he fulfills within Antwerp Management School, he has also been a guest lecturer in many other management and colleges for many years, so the search is for the HR professional who has not yet encountered Lou in his career. We can safely say that Lou Van Beirendonck has formed a whole generation of Belgian HR professionals from all sectors in competence thinking and assessment centers. Lou Van Beirendonck is therefore the pioneer in assessment centers in Belgium and an authority in the field of competence and talent management.

Based on the deep conviction that honest, respectful and correct feedback gives people the best guarantee for their further development, he started Quintessence Consulting in the late 1980s, a consultancy company specialized in integrated competence and talent management and still runs this company today. In the period 2005 to 2010, his thinking about the innovative concept of “talent” was reflected in a PhD at Tilburg University. In this work, the contours of Paars Management, a scientifically based vision on sustainable management of people and organizations, are outlined for the first time.

To date, Lou Van Beirendonck has published 12 books, a number of which have been translated into French and English. At the base he is an organizational psychologist and obtained his Master's degree at the KULeuven. He further specialized in executive business administration and organizational development at the KULeuven and the UA.
