Biography

A globally recognized thought leader in talent management, she is the author of Integrated and Integrative Talent Management: A Strategic HR Framework (The Conference Board, 2004), Talent Value Imperatives (The Conference Board, 2005), and Differentiating Talent Management (CRF Publishing, 2005).

She focuses her work on issues of strategically aligned behavior change with an emphasis on leadership development and talent management and, in those contexts, has helped individuals, at all levels, and organizations define opportunities, build capabilities, and continuously learn and improve. She brings particularly rich experience in professional and financial services firms, drawn from her 20+-year career.

Ms. Morton’s work has included strategic assessments/planning, presentations, workshops, meeting/team facilitation, research, and the use of web-enabled collaborative and eLearning platforms. Her clients are Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and non-profits and have included Navistar, Dell, John Hancock, Morgan Stanley, Herman Miller, U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, Educationtogo, Canadian Housing & Mortgage Corp., Wolters Kluwer, Fried Frank, DBM, LearnShare, AstraZeneca, Recruitmax, and The Conference Board.

A frequent speaker and author, Ms. Morton has been featured on programs at The Institute for the Future, The Conference Board, HR-NY/SHRM, The Mergers & Acquisitions Institute, Comdex, Coaching Circles, OD Network, AMA, Danish Industries Leadership Summit, Cranfield University, and NYU. She has been interviewed by numerous publications including New York Newsday, Consulting Today, Crain’s New York Business, LIM Newsletter, Human Capital Institute Newsletter, and The Alexander Hamilton Institute Bulletin. Her ideas have appeared in OD and HR publications in the US, UK, Canada and Australia. Co-author of The Primordial Bond (Plenum Publ., 1980), she was also a contributor to Breakpoint BPR (Coopers & Lybrand, 1992) and to Out of Site: An Inside Look at Outsourcing (IHRIM, 2004).

Prior to forming PI Solutions in 2001, Ms. Morton was Associate Director, Global Knowledge Management at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she was a member of the management team and head of the thought leadership program. She was also Director, Coopers & Lybrand, Management Consulting Services; Vice President for Quality and Corporate Communication, Seabury & Smith (Marsh & McLennan). Ms. Morton began her career in the art and publishing worlds and continues to bring the perspectives of the creative arts to her consulting and coaching.

Additionally, she has facilitated nearly 100 teams, working face-to-face or virtually, and has served as a Judge in AQP’s Team Awards. Along with coaching executives and professionals at various levels, she has counseled displaced companies and employees affected by Sept. 11, in coordination with the NYC Mayor’s Office and Coaching Circles. Ms. Morton was a Member of the Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and of the Steering Committee for the Empire State Advantage Program.

Lynne Morton holds a B.A. degree from Vassar College and an M.A. degree from Georgetown University. She is a Member, National Advisory Board for Performance Management, Human Capital Institute; member, Advisory Board, Aruspex ;and Senior Global Advisor, Jeitosa Group International Lynne is also a consultant member, Society for Organizational Learning and Adjunct Faculty, Human Capital Institute. A native New Yorker, she has been a volunteer consultant to Lincoln Center’s Consolidated Corporate Fund and a facilitator for AmericaSpeaks Network. Ms. Morton is certified in Lominger’s Career Architect™ and DiSC™ assessments.
