Mama Houdou Basse

Biography

Houdou Basse Mama is an Assistant Professor of Finance at ESCP Europe Campus Berlin where he holds the Chair in International Financial Markets. His teaching interests include international financial markets, international finance, empirical finance, asset/portfolio management, and entrepreneurial/corporate finance.

Prior to joining ESCP Europe in February 2013, he held a postdoctoral position at the University of Hamburg where he earned a Master in international Business Administration and a PhD in finance. He also holds an M.A. in Accounting and Finance (Université Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar) as well as an M.A. in Applied Foreign Languages (from the Université Cheikh Anta Diop and AUPELF-UREF Montréal). Concomitantly to his former position at the University of Hamburg, he has been a visiting lecturer of finance with the State University of Finance & Economics in St. Petersburg (since 2009) and the Bordeaux Business School (since 2011). Houdou Basse Mama eventually spent three years as financial controller with SIEMENS AG in Senegal and 6 months as intern in the Index Development Unit of Deutsche Börse AG in Frankfurt.
