Leonard N. Stern School of Business
Marc Hodak joined New York University Stern School of Business in 2003 as an Adjunct Professor, where he teaches the courses, "Corporate Governance" and "A History of Scandal."
Professor Hodak is the founder of Hodak Value Advisors, a research and advisory firm that assists investors, boards of directors and senior executives on the finance and compensation issues of corporate governance. HVA research is also used by asset managers in evaluating the alignment of managers and shareholders for investment purposes.
From 1992 to 2001, Professor Hodak led management consulting projects internationally for Stern Stewart & Co. He was also a leader in Stern Stewart's effort to create alternate delivery of intellectual capital to clients, including the development of software and computer-based training on value-based management principles and applications used in 17 countries. Before becoming a consultant in 1992, Professor Hodak was a Chairman's Award winning manager of Conrail's $100 million per year automobile transportation business.
Professor Hodak has published numerous articles in both academic journals and the popular business press on corporate governance, value-based management and organizational design. He has spoken at conferences throughout the U.S. and Europe on governance and management. He is also a visiting lecturer at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, and has previously taught at MIT and Wharton.
Professor Hodak received his M.B.A. in Finance at Wharton in 1986, following a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Maryland in 1982. He passed the Bar exam in Patent Law in 1984.
