Biography
Kenan-Flagler Business School
Marc Simons is a former senior investment management professional with over 30 years of global investment management experience. His teaching interests include capital markets and investment management.
Mr. Simons has extensive experience in managing investment operations from start-ups to large multinational investment managers. He is the former chief operating officer of Del Mar Asset Management, LP, a multi-strategy hedge fund adviser. He also served as COO/EVP for State Street Global Advisors, a global investment manager, where he was responsible for the management of its business infrastructure across multiple global locations.
Before joining State Street, Mr. Simons was a partner in PriceWaterhouseCoopers’ investment management consulting group specializing in mergers and acquisitions, investment operations and technology selection/integration. He began his investment career as a developer of portfolio management and trading systems.
Mr. Simons has served as a member of the advisory board of the University of Massachusetts/Boston’s College of Management
He received his BA in political science from the University of Massachusetts/Boston.
