Biography

I am a business faculty and have taught MBA and undergraduate classes. I have served as consultant and mentor to business leaders in a variety of industries. I also speak on online higher education, leadership, and multiple bottom lines for business, and integration of faith & work.
Prior to that I served as a financial services executive: Vice-President at Citibank and American Express in the areas of Risk Management and Marketing Analysis and focusing on Europe, Latin America, and U.S. Hispanic segment. My career started in academia as an Assistant Professor at INCAE (Central American Institute of Management) in Nicaragua. I have served as Business School Dean for a U.S. based college startup offering Spanish-language classes. Teaching is my calling and that it why I dedicated myself full time to it since 2009. My current research interests relate to integration of faith & work and impact investing.
Family and hobbies: I am originally from Managua, Nicaragua and came to the US in 1980. I am the mom of two wonderful young adults. I am an avid learner, and love water sports (snorkeling, swimming, etc.). I used to run and have completed 3 marathons and one 1/2 marathon. My kids love the cold, so we enjoy skiing too!! At my church I serve in women’s Bible studies, Sunday school ministry, and Vacation Bible School (in the summer). In addition, I serve with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship as chaplain with UM Chaplains Association.
