Maria Jesus Belizon

Maria is Assistant Professor of Human Resource Management in the UCD College of Business and works in the Human Resource Management and Employment Relations Subject Area since 2015. She holds a PhD in Management and an MSc in International Management and Global Business from the University of Limerick. Her core research and teaching focus on HR Analytics, international HRM, and industrial relations in multinational companies (MNCs). She is Academic Lead for the HR Analytics Think Tank, a private-academic partnership based in London, dedicated to researching the practice of HR and People Analytics. In 2018, Maria co-founded the community of practice HR Analytics Ireland (www.hranalyticsireland.com), sponsored by the Irish Centre of Business Excellence (ICBE) / Skillnet. In 2019, she was awarded the UCD College of Business Emerging Scholar Award.

Her research journey started in IESE Business School (University of Navarre) and her work has been published in the Human Resource Management Journal, the European Journal of Industrial Relations, Cross-Cultural Management: an International Journal, Personnel Review, and the Journal of Industrial Relations. She has also published a number of book chapters. She is a frequent reviewer for journals such as the Human Resource Management Journal, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Human Resource Management Review, and Personnel Review. Since 2016, she has served as head of Teaching & Learning for her subject area.
