Biography
Marina Everri is a social psychologist and systemic psychotherapist. Her research studies have looked at adolescent development and families' functioning and wellbeing adopting systemic and developmental-ecological approaches. More recently, she has focused on the impact of digital technologies on children's mental health and wellbeing at school and in their families, through collaborations at the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK and University of Parma, Italy. She is developing further this line of research exploring the potential of virtual reality and other emerging technologies for both promoting children's social-emotional wellbeing online and offline, and providing family/children's practitioners with better techniques for interventions in today's digitized societies. She has made methodological advancements in the field of ethnography and qualitative research implementing digital ethnography methods based on visual techniques. She co-founded two research laboratories in Italy and UK for the study of interpersonal relations and communication processes in different settings (e.g. psychotherapy, hospitals, families, schools) using video research methods. She currently teaches in the MSc Systemic Psychotherapy Programme, School of Medicine, and provides consultancy to healthcare, educational and social services in Ireland and Italy.
