Biography

Mark Shore, a well-known expert on alternative investments with more than 30 years of experience in the capital markets, is currently the director of educational research at Coquest Advisors. He also served as chief operating officer at VK Capital, a wholly-owned Morgan Stanley commodity trading advisor business unit; head of risk at Octane Research, a Swiss-based alternative investment firm; and founder and chief research officer at Shore Capital Research LLC.

Shore also consults on alternative investments, conducts educational workshops, webinars and is frequently invited to speak at investment conferences. In 2013, Shore created and hosted a live-streaming internet talk show about alternative investments, called “Skewing Your Diversification."

With more than 70 articles to his credit, Shore frequently writes industry-related content regarding asset allocation, commodities, macro events, volatility, due diligence and alternative investments.

Shore is a contributing writer for organizations such as Eurex, Cboe, TEXPERS, Seeking Alpha, ReachX, Swiss Derivatives Review, Microcap Review. He also has contributed chapters to the following books: "Hedge Funds: Insights in Performance Measurement, Risk Analysis, and Portfolio Allocation" and "The Handbook of Commodity Investing," both published by Wiley & Sons.

Since 2011, Shore has been teaching topics on alternative investments, asset allocation and quantitative reasoning.

Shore is a board member for DePaul University's Arditti Center for Risk Management; Coinifide, a blockchain/crypto currency educational firm; the National Introducing Brokers Association; and is a member of QWAFAFEW Chicago Steering Committee.
