Dr. McGrath is a transplant nephrologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where she also serves as medical director of live kidney donation. She has a part-time appointment in nephrology at VA Boston Healthcare system. Dr. McGrath obtained her medical degree from University College Cork, Ireland and did her medical and nephrology training in Ireland, prior to completing the Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital combined renal fellowship. Her clinical and research interests include mechanisms of transplant tolerance and rejection, long term outcomes of live kidney donors, and cardiovascular disease in patients with CKD. She serves of the end point adjudication committees of several large cardiovascular trials through the BWH Clinical Endpoint Center.
