Mary McKenna Guanci, MSN, RN, CNRN, SCRN, has been a neuroscience nurse for more than 40 years. She has been the clinical nurse specialist in the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital for 25 years. She has presented internationally, nationally, regionally, and locally on numerous neuroscience topics including neuroanatomy, trauma, stroke, neurointensive care nursing management, and general intensive care considerations.

Ms. Guanci has published on various neuro topics, most recently the Neurocritical Care Guidelines for External Ventricular Drain Management and Targeted Temperature Management and has co-authored and edited the targeted temperature management chapter for the Core Curriculumn of Neuroscience Nursing. She is currently a director-at-large for the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses and a member of the Research Guideline Committee for the Neurocritical Care Society.
