Biography

NUS Institute of Systems Science

Dr Matthew Chua, BEng, CSM, PMP, PhD, is currently a lecturer and principal investigator at the NUS Institute of System Science where he specializes in Medical & Cybernetics Systems. He is overseeing the research programme in Smart Healthcare, Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Robotics. He has won prestigious research grants, amounting to more than S$1 million, from Ministry of Health, SG Enable and internationally. His wide array of expertise makes him a highly sought-after collaborator from various industries. He is currently the Associate Editor for IEEE Access journals, the appointed Residential Fellow for Kent Ridge Hall, NUS, and holds an honorary joint faculty appointment with NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health. He is also a ScrumMaster with Scrum Alliance and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with PMI.

On the side, Dr Chua is a professional opera singer, being sought after for many local events and celebrations, including The SG50 Concert at the Park, Lee Kuan Yew Memorial Concert, TTSH Gala dinner and many others. He was also the 2nd place winner for The Rising Star Season 3 Competition 2019.
