Maximilian Müller

As an associate professor of accounting, Max is committed to helping students and managers increase their financial literacy. Prior to joining ESMT in 2020, Max was on the faculty of WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management and a visiting scholar at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Max has published several research papers in leading finance and accounting journals with a focus on disclosure (regulation) and taxation in capital markets. He serves on the editorial board of the European Accounting Review and enjoys contributing his expertise to practice, e.g., by advising a quantitative asset management firm. He has won multiple awards for his teaching.

Max was a visiting Marie Curie Fellow at Tilburg University during his doctoral studies at WHU and received his diploma in business administration from the University of Mannheim.
