Dr. Maxwell Sauder is a board-certified dermatologist in Canada (FRCPC) and the United States (DABD) with additional fellowship training in cutaneous oncology at Harvard Medical School. He is a former faculty member of Harvard Medical School where he focused on skin toxicities of anti-cancer treatments (STATs). He is currently an onco-dermatologist at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre where he assists in the management of complex cutaneous malignancies and STATs. He also practices at Toronto Dermatology Centre where he is the director of the Pigmented Lesion Clinic that uses cutting edge artificial intelligence technology to identify and manage skin cancers or precancerous lesions at the earliest possible stage.

He continues to advance the understanding of dermatology and management of various dermatologic conditions as the Research Director at Toronto Research Centre and an associate investigator at Probity Medical Research. Well published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, Dr. Sauder has also authored several book chapters, been referenced on www.uptodate.com, and has won numerous awards including the Partner’s President Prize at Harvard and The Royal College’s Detweiler Fellowship Award. His publications have covered topics such as eczema, patient education, aesthetic dermatology, sun safety, psoriasis, biologics, adverse drug reactions, hemangiomas, contact dermatitis, cutaneous oncology, and a host of complex medical dermatology conditions.

Dr. Sauder earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at McMaster University and completed a five-year residency in dermatology at The University of Ottawa where he was the chief resident and received The D.C. Montgomery Resident Award for excellence in research. He completed fellowship training in Cutaneous Oncology at Harvard Medical School. He is an active member of the Canadian Dermatology Association where he is a member of the Sun Awareness Working Group. He is the Treasurer of the Section of Dermatology within the Ontario Medical Association where he advocates for dermatologists, doctors and most importantly patients.
