Meaghan Guiney

Meaghan C. Guiney joined the FDU faculty in 2012. She primarily works with students as a core faculty member for FDU’s school psychology programs. In particular, as the Coordinator of Internships for FDU’s School Psychology programs, Dr. Guiney works closely with MA and PsyD interns and their field supervisors to ensure high-quality training experiences. Prior to entering academia, Dr. Guiney worked as a School Psychologist with the Katonah-Lewisboro School District in Westchester County, NY. In this role, she provided a broad range of assessment, consultation, intervention, prevention, and crisis response services, including direct support to students with significant behavioral and emotional disabilities. Her graduate school training included an internship with the Ossining (NY) Union Free School District and practicum placements in high-needs parochial schools in New York City, as well as K-12 public schools in suburban Maryland. Dr. Guiney is actively involved in local and national leadership activities within the field of school psychology. She worked as an intern at the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) while in graduate school at the University of Maryland and has been an enthusiastic member of NASP ever since. Currently, she serves as the Strategic Liaison for Professional Standards on the NASP Board of Directors. In this role, she maintains contact with school psychology leaders from across the country and coordinates efforts to address the critical nationwide shortage of school psychologists. In addition to NASP, Dr. Guiney is a member of the New Jersey Association of School Psychologists; the American Psychological Association (APA); and APA’s School Psychology division, Division 16.
