Instructor at University of Michigan

Biography

Currently…

I’m honing my skills as a UX Researcher @ Sourcegraph. As the first dedicated researcher on the team, I’m doing a lot of cool Research Ops things like building up a research repository using Dovetail, creating guides and templates to help everyone start researching faster, and supporting the product team with all their qualitative research project needs. And, of course, conducting some discovery and strategic research of my own.

In terms of my professional interests…

I have a variety! Originally I started out working in international relations and wanted to learn (and research!) all I could about globalization, media, and history. After working abroad in the public sector for a couple years, I decided to make a change, expand upon my media studies background with some solid HCI coursework at UMSI, and shift back into a research-focused role in the private sector.

Right now, my Top Five interest list is:

  • Research—mostly qualitative but studying up on quantitative
  • International studies
  • Emerging technologies—AR/VR and VUI
  • Digital media and humanities—especially related to marginalized communities
  • Content creation
