Biography
Hernandez is an active practitioner of marketing by day and an active marketing instructor by night. He has created countless award winning TV/internet ads, sales collateral, value-added events, websites, paid search programs and inbound content-based marketing programs for lead generation.
Hernandez started his career in a sales role for NCR Corporation and eventually began working in media sales and marketing at the Tribune Media, Dow Jones and AllAdvantage.com. He continued a career in SaaS marketing at Applied Systems, started a marketing consulting company that worked with several midsized organizations that included Macy's, which awarded his company as their "most resilient business partner." He then went on to work for another one of his customers, Insuresoft, where he started a marketing team from the ground up.
At DePaul, Hernandez teaches undergraduate courses in marketing, consumer behavior and advanced marketing management. In 2015, the Driehaus College of Business awarded him the Daniel Seiden Distinguished Adjunct Teaching Award. Following his passion for higher education, Hernandez is now the director of marketing and creative services at Joliet Junior College.
